Friday

Now it's the end of the week in a Maltese school. We have two days left in Malta and then we're going home to Sweden again. The days in school have been funny and providing, but unfortunetaly they have had a lot of Maltese in our school. I thought it was an English speaking school, but it wasn't. We have observe many different classes like English, mathematics, Maltese, PE, religion and art. Both the teachers an the students are very cute and they have been very helpful to us.

Wednesday after school we went in to Valletta, the capital of Malta. We went up and down on the mainstreet, but we didn't find it so interesting. But it is a nice city! In the evening we went to the salsa lessonm again! This time Malin and Sarah joined us too. It was so much fun this time too! The danceteacher is so good.

Valletta

Yesterday we just went down to a pier nearby to get some sun after school. It was nice. In the afternoon we watched two movies an later on Malin and I felt like taking a walk. We went out and walked around for a while. Then we found the best cheesecake ever at McCafé! It was so nice! When we finally came home to Granny's again, we realized we had been out for three hours!

Today it's the last day with Sarah :( Tonight we're going out to a goodbye-dinner and then for some dancing and a couple of drinks in Paceville. And it's soon time for us to start packing our things, we leave on sunday morning...

Tuesday evening

Now it's already thusday and we have been to school for two days. It's nice and funny to see how they work in the school here in Malta. There's a lots of things there are different and some things that are the same. Yesterday we were in the third grade, the pupils there are 7 years old. It was intensive and it was a little bit hard for us to understand everything because they speak a lot of Maltese in the classroom even if it is a international school.

When we were done in school we went to a beach called Golden Bay. It was nice and it was a lot of Swedish people there. I like the fact that we have been to almost every beach in Malta, it's fun to see different parts of the island.

In the evening Hanna, Emma and I went to a salsa lesson at a place called Fuego. I have never danced salsa before so I was really excited. In fact all of us were. It turned out to be very funny! It was a lots of people there and the dance teacher was really good. We dance for about three hours, and were totally exhausted when we were done, but it was absolutely worth it! And tomorrow we are going there again. Malin, Ninnie and Sarah just have to go there too! :) So it's time for salsa tomorrow again!

Salsa at Fuego

Today we also went to school. In the morning the whole school went to the church for a mess. It was nice, but nothing like what I am used to since they are catholic here. It was very much up and down in the benches. They prayed and sang.  After that we went with a class to drama and then math and english. It was nice!

After school we met Malin, Ninnie and Sarah at Paradise Bay. It was as lovely as usually there :) I like it a lot! This evening we have had pizza at the sea. After that we watched Bridget Jones Diary and I also coulored Hanna's hair. Now it's time for bed! Sleep tight

Lovely Malta!

Yesterday we finally went to The Blue Lagoon! It was as lovely as we thought. But the weather wasn't to good at first, but it became better later on. The boattrip out to the island Comino, where the lagoon is, took about 15 minutes. The guys who had the boat told us that movies like Troy, Cast Away and The Count of Monte Cristo have been recorded there! I thought that was really cool! And the lagoon was really nice :) The water was totally turquoise and there were many caves that  we swam in to, it was wonderful! I was in the water almost the whole day.

When we came home we decided to go out to some clubs that night. We had a little preparty at our room. Sarah was with us of course. I think it is so good that we have met her and spend so much time with her, because then we have to speak english all the time. If we haden't  met her I think it would have been easy for us just to speak Swedish all the time, so it is really good that we're practice our English. We played some funny games like "Med andra ord". It was funny and at the same time good practice since we need to speak English. Later on we went to a place called Paceville, where we heard that the best party should be. It was like a long street with lots of clubs! We went in to maybe six of them, some better then the other ones. I liked especially a place called Footloose, because it was so good music there. The evening went out very well and when we were tired of dancing we went home.

Today we have been at a market in Valletta, the capital of Malta. It was nice and I bought some small things. The market closed at one o'clock and then we went to a beach called Mellieha Bay. It was very long and had smooth and warm sand, but the water was kind of dirty so I didn't like it so much. But it was ok. Now it's time for bed, because tomorrow we're going to school! I'm excited about it, it's going to be nice to see how it works in the school here. Over and out!

Friday night

Today it has been a lovely day! It started a bit cloudy so we decided to not go the Blue Lagoon today and save that for a more sunny day (tomorrow!). Instead we went to a beach called Paradise Bay, doesn't it sounds good?! :) Sarah, the Australian girl went with us to. The bus trip there took about fourty minutes, but it was absolutely worth it! When we went off the bus we met a guy, Henrik, from Sweden! He was nice and stayed with us the whole day. It was really lovely at Paradise bay! The water was totally turquoise! And so warm and nice. We lay in the water almost the whole time! We get really tanned, and need to be careful tomorrow...

Paradise Bay

Now we had just eaten bacon and pasta, a lovely dinner! :) This evening it's going to be a movie night with popcorn, chips and cookies. We are totally exhausted after a long day in the sun!
Over and out!

The first morning...

We have just had a lovely breakfast and now we are going to our schools. We need to see where they are, which time they want us to be there and what kind of dresscode there is. We got help from the owner of Granny's to find the right buses and how to go there. Hanna, Emma and I are going to a city called Lija and it is supposed to take about an hour to go there. After we have been at the school I think we're going to a nearby beach. The weather is fairly good today, warm but a little bit cloudy. We have meet a really nice girl from Australia here, she has been here at Granny's for five days and she is going to show us around, where the best beaches are and so on. It is also to girls from Spain here that are very nice. This weekend we think we are going to the two small islands that belongs to Malta. At one of them it's supposed to be a blue lagoon! We just need to go there!

I hope the weather is fine in Sweden, but I have heard that it is terrible :P

Now we're here!

Yesterday at midnight we started to drove the 300 kilometers to Skavsta airport. The trip went well and we arrived four hours before the plane was going to take off. The air croissing was not as bad as I thought, I have heard so much bad stuff about Ryanair, but I think it was totally alright. We arrived here in Malta at 11 AM and then we went to Granny's Inn, where we are going to stay for eleven nights know. It is really nice here! The room is cosy, we have access to computers, TV and a kitchen. I really like it! We have just been out on a walk and we also bought a lot of food. This evening are we going to watch a movie and go to bed early, we haven't slept for about 30 hours... And we are of course very tired. Tomorrow we are hoping for nice weather so that we can take a bath in the ocean and hopefully be a little brown.

I hope everything is alright at home! I will write soon again!

Well well well...

In english it is, yeah...
In this course, ENID (English in a Didactic Perspective), we're going to have two weeks of abroad practice. I am going to Malta with four friends. While we're there we're going to blog about our residence there, how it works in an English school system and the culture in Malta. We're leaving Sweden the night between 7th and 8th of October. We're going to take Hannas car, Solveig, and go 300 kilometer to Skavsta airport. It's going to be an adventure!
